With the increased use of system boilers in the market and unvented cylinders, like the Everflo System-fit which is ideally suited to the boiler, due loft conversions and the lack of storage room we have decided to dedicate a blog to our top five system boilers. In a lot of cases there is still the misunderstanding on what is a system boiler and maybe because of the name people think it is the same as the old conventional boiler. System boilers have built in expansion vessels and circulating pumps. This allows for a much neater installation and les time involved. Plus there is not the need for a separate expansion tank or vessel so freeing up space. They are also ideally suited for a Unvented stainless steel cylinder as you then create a pressurised heating and hot water circuit. With a conventional boiler you would need a separate pump, expansion tank and various pipework configurations. So now we know what we are talking about just what are the Top five System boilers that we sell?
1. In at number one has got to be the Potterton Gold 24kw System which at under £600 for the boiler is a cracking replacement for a Baxi Solo 24, Netaheat 16/22 or any other 80,000 BTU system boiler.
2. A new comer to this slot but really ticks all the boxes is the Ideal Logic Plus 18kW System boiler. This has a seven year warranty and works on the Logic platform which is light, easy to install and quiet.
3. For sheer size and popularity for the larger home, the Vaillant 637 System boiler is the perfect partner. We often sell these with the Unistor cylinders but works great with an Everflo System Fit 300 L indirect.
4. Another power punching boiler that is a popular seller is the Baxi Megaflo 32kW. This is a bit of a regional player but has all the backing of the brand and 260 service engineers.
5. Last but not least is the Vokera Mynute i20 System boiler which seems to have a good regular following as it is really competitive and offers a rear outlet flue option to replace the old Netaheats, Glow-worm Ultimate and Ideal Classics.
