This product is a smart video door bell, that can be used and combined with all the rest of the Nest smart devices in your home that allow you to control elements of your home via your Smart Phone or Tablet.
Home Security with the Nest Hello
When it comes to your home, the very first thing visitors see is your front door. As the entry point to your home, it is the place you will meet and greet visitors, but it is also a place that we want to protect and keep secure.
Traditionally a standard doorbell or even a knock via the letter box might have been the way that you were made aware that someone was at your home. This has always been quite unreliable and door knocks aren’t always heard. Using a standard doorbell there’s always a chance that you’ll miss a delivery or guest, even when you are right at home. This can be for a number of different reasons, from simple distraction, to being in the shower, or even from working in the garden.
The good news is that today this kind of problem can be the thing of the past. With the advent of smart technology, the door front has become a technological focal point where this smart technology can provide a lot of flexibility and great benefits. This means that you need not miss a knock at the door again, even if you’re not at home!
Additional info about the new Nest Hello door bell
The Nest Hello is a smart technology video door bell that operates is in constant operation mode. This means that the Nest Hello can do a number of fantastic things. Firstly, the video stream that it captures is designed to ensure that the whole person from the head to the toe and the floor of the doorstop is in the picture, meaning you can see parcels left on your doorstep. In addition to this, the video feed will work both night and day.
One of the great things about the Nest Hello is that the technology can alert you when someone is at your door, even when they have not even pressed the doorbell. This is great for detecting when the postman arrives, or for occasions when someone has arrived at your front door and is loitering. The Nest Hello will also light up when it detects the presence of a person to enable them to quickly find the doorbell.
Since the Nest Hello can be connected to your smart phone it means that you will get alerts from your front door no matter where your location if you can get an internet connection. This is great if you want to sit in the garden, out of earshot of a standard doorbell, or even if you are out at work. You can answer your door from anywhere and speak to visitors via your phone.
There is also a log kept so you can review recent activity around your front door. This is great to detect when parcels have arrived, or whether you have received callers overnight, or say when you are on holiday in a completely different time zone. The Nest Hello offers a huge range of advantages when compared to a standard door bell.
This is just the start of what the Nest Hello can do. If you can’t answer the door, or don’t want to, you can use pre-recorded messages and if you do not want to be disturbed, say if you have a baby asleep and do not want to wake them up, you can put the Nest Hello on quiet mode.
For those with a Nest Aware subscription, if using Google Assistant enabled devices, your Nest Hello can even recognise ‘friendly’ callers. We’re pleased to add the Nest Hello to our range of Nest products once it is released on Tuesday the 12th of June.
