1. F-Gas Certification
Installation and maintenance must be performed by technicians who hold F-Gas certification. This certification, required by EU Regulation 517/2014 and UK law, ensures that refrigerants are handled responsibly and safely.
2. REFCOM Registration
The installation company should be registered with REFCOM or an equivalent body. This registration ensures compliance with F-Gas regulations and adherence to industry best practices.
3. Electrical Qualifications
Installers need to have appropriate electrical qualifications. Recognition from bodies such as the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) ensures that the electrical work involved in the installation is carried out competently.
4. Manufacturer Training and Certification
It is advisable to choose installers who have undergone specific training and certification programs offered by air conditioning manufacturers. This ensures they are well-versed in the unique requirements and procedures for different units.
5. Health and Safety Compliance
