When you first start out as a plumber or heating engineer, one of the first things you will want to do (after you’ve secured a job and all the paperwork of course) is try and find the best social media accounts and influencers to follow. These will be your tribe, your people. They will help educate you, support you and entertain you. By following these accounts, you can stay up to date on the latest news and trends in the plumbing industry, learn new skills, connect with other plumbers and in some case, get extra leads on clients.   • APHC: The Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors is the leading trade body for the plumbing and heating industry in England and Wales.

  • CIPHE:The professional body for the plumbing and heating industry.

  • Gas Safety: Official page of the Gas Safe Register, these guys also share updates for the gas engineer community.

 

Top Industry Influencers

Influencers can be some of the best accounts for you to follow. They are building a community within the industry, provide current product information and educational posts. Here are some of the top industry influencers to follow as a plumber in the UK:

  • Plumberparts: James is a font of knowledge in all things plumbing and heating. He shares educational and sometimes mind boggling videos on most social platforms.

  • Drew Styles: Drew is a plumber who shares videos of his work and gives tips and advice on plumbing.

  • The Blonde Plumber: With 18 year’s experience in the industry, Carly adds a bit of glamour to a male dominated industry whilst sharing installation tips and plumbing advice.

  • The Peaky Plumber: Yorkshire born and bred, Lee uses his social platforms to keep you up to date on their top products and provide plumbing tips for all.

  • Plumbing by Rach: Rachel shares content on boiler installs and repairs, her favourite tools, and her own home renovations.

It would be a bit much to list all the key players in the plumbing and heating supplier and manufacturing industry so we’ve cherry picked a few. Whilst every tradesperson has preferred brands, we would suggest you follow your personal favourites. Not picked a favourite brand to work with?
