The Honeywell Home DU145-3/4B angled automatic bypass valve controls flow of water through a bypass circuit which is installed between flow and return pipework, typically at or near the boiler. Building Regulation advice states that if a bypass is installed, an Automatic Bypass Valve must be fitted.

The Honeywell Home DU145-3/4B saves energy by only allowing flow through the bypass when needed i.e. when flow through the system is reduced when zone valves or radiator thermostats are closing. The use of an ABV is recommended by the UK government as Best Practice in the CHeSS (Central Heating System Specifications) guide to central heating systems.

Features:

  • Unique and simple adjustment mechanism
  • High capacity flow - up to 50 litres per minute
  • Wide differential pressure range 0.1 to 0.6 bar
  • 22mm compression fittings for ease of installation
  • Reduces system noise and maintains an even system pressure
  • Ensures constant flow through boiler
  • Lockable set pressure prevents inadvertent adjustment

Customer Questions
In what ways do heating controls work with heating systems that are already in place?

Boilers and heat pumps are among the heating systems that heating controls are made to operate with. Verify compatibility while adding controllers by consulting the system specifications. Effective temperature control and energy management are made possible by proper integration, which permits heat to be used only where it is required.

What is the difference between wireless RF and smart Wi-Fi heating controls?

RF (Radio Frequency) Heating Controls operate without an internet connection and use radio frequency signals to transmit information between the thermostat and the boiler or receiver unit. An RF heating control offers manual control for temperature settings and schedules. It is suitable for users who prefer a simple system without relying on technology. A Smart (Wi-Fi) Heating control uses the internet and enables advanced features like remote control, geofencing, etc. via apps. It appeals to users who value convenience, energy savings, and smart home integration. When suggesting controls to customers, consider both the possibility of long-term energy savings and their degree of familiarity with technology.

Does installing heating controls require a professional?

Although competent DIY enthusiasts may install some basic heating controls, it is best to have plumbers and installers do the work. Experts guarantee correct wiring, configuration, and calibration, reducing the possibility of problems later. You may also give consumers helpful advice on how to maintain their heating system and operate the controls efficiently.

Are your products guaranteed?

Yes all our products come with a guarantee.

Guarantees or warranties vary, by product and manufacturer.

All our products are guaranteed for a minimum of 1 year (radiators vary - see individual product specifications, copper tube 25 years) but many offer longer warranties from the manufacturer, which you may need to register for.

On each product, under the specification tab, you will find more information on the guarantee or Warranty.

Follow links through to various manufacturers sites, as each manufacturer will have its own terms and conditions for qualifying for longer warranties.

You do not want to miss out by getting the wrong installer for some boilers etc.

As Boilers and radiators are installed by third parties, they do have to install in compliance with regulations and manufacturer standards to get the full benefit of the warranty.

As long as these are fulfilled, you will get the maximum life and support from your new purchase.
