In 2018/2019 there were over a million cases of fly tipping in the U.K. costing councils in England an estimated £12.9 million pounds in clear up and enforcement fees. A third of all incidents reported were  ‘small van load’ of rubbish. Perhaps not suprisingly, 31% were counted as electrical waste and white goods.  

This not only has a detrimental impact on local communities, but can be toxic for the environment. This often results in contamination of soil and damage to natural habitats. Introducing the BoilerBox.

Being environmental responsible in our industry can be a little tricky. Until recently, recycling certain components and appliances has been difficult to say the least. Mr Central Heating wants to make it easier for you to do your bit. We created the BoilerBox to enable you to recycle old boilers and the waste materials. For a small fee, we will collect your old boiler. This means that you don’t have to store it or worry about how it’s being disposed of. We can guarantee that at least 60% of the material from the boiler will be recycled so you can have peace of mind that you’re helping the planet as well as using this efficient and convenient method for your waste disposal.  

What is the BoilerBox?

The BoilerBox is a unique concept that allows for a convenient, clean and safe way to not only remove the unwanted boiler from the property, but with an organised collection to be booked and the boiler recycled responsibly as well. This will enable more of the materials to be fully recycled so saving the earths limited resources and reducing carbon emissions. The Boiler Box is collapsible so convenient to store in the van until the job is completed. It is extremely robust and has handles and a security seal for the lid which allows the old boiler to be safely removed without any mess or risk to the engineers. Once we have received the old boiler in the BoilerBox, it will be broken down and recycled.  

How does it work?

The concept is very easy. The BoilerBox will come as a flat, plastic container. It can quickly be assembled into a large box, in which you can ask your installer, plumber or heating engineer to place the old boiler within once it’s been removed. That includes any accessories such as copper pipes and flues and pumps. We then have a very simple booking system which allows you to book a time for the box to be collected by one of our friendly drivers. The boiler is then taken away to be recycled at minimum cost and maximum convenience to you and your installer. You don’t need to worry about where your waste is going to end up or pay a lot of money for someone else to dispose of it for you.
